HDR Real Estate
Photo Editing
Professional exposure blending to recover window views, balance shadows and highlights, and deliver crisp, natural-looking property images that stand out on every listing platform.

What is HDR Real Estate Editing?
HDR (High Dynamic Range) real estate photo editing is the process of combining multiple bracketed exposures of the same scene into a single, perfectly illuminated image.
Cameras cannot capture the full range of light visible to the human eye. By shooting multiple frames—ranging from underexposed (capturing outside window details) to overexposed (lighting up dark corners)—we manually blend the best elements of each frame.
Why Professional Blending Matters
Automated HDR software or in-camera blending often results in flat, grey, or "radioactive" looking images with muddy colors and artificial halos around edges.
Professional real estate exposure blending requires a human editor to manually brush in window pulls, correct color casts from mixed lighting, and ensure the final image looks natural, crisp, and inviting to potential buyers.
Our Exposure Blending Process
We meticulously process your bracketed images to ensure every detail of the property is visible.
Exposure Blending
Flawlessly merging 3, 5, or 7 bracketed ambient and flash exposures to capture the full dynamic range of the room.
Highlight Recovery
Taming harsh reflections on hardwood floors, bright light fixtures, and glaring sunlight to preserve surface details.
Shadow Recovery
Lifting deep shadows in corners or underneath cabinetry without introducing excessive digital noise or grain.
Window Exposure Control
Using flash frames or underexposed ambient frames to perform clean "window pulls," showing the exterior view clearly.
White Balance
Correcting orange or blue color casts caused by mixed indoor lighting and natural sunlight to ensure true-to-life tones.
Colour Correction
Enhancing the vibrancy of key elements like green lawns and blue skies while keeping interior walls and floors neutral and accurate.
Natural HDR vs. Overprocessed HDR
Heavy-handed HDR editing creates images with glowing halos around ceilings, murky grey midtones, and cartoonish colors. GetPik focuses exclusively on natural property image enhancement. We ensure your photos look bright, spacious, and architecturally accurate—representing the property at its absolute best without looking fake or heavily manipulated.
Interior HDR Editing
Interiors present the greatest lighting challenges. We balance bright exterior windows with dark interior walls, neutralize mixed color temperatures from varied lightbulbs, and maintain the natural depth and atmosphere of the room.

Exterior HDR focuses on controlling harsh shadows from midday sun, recovering details in shaded porches, and performing sky enhancement where appropriate to ensure the facade looks vibrant and inviting.

HDR Photo Editing FAQs
Do I need to send RAW files or JPEGs for HDR editing?+
We accept both. However, sending uncompressed RAW files gives our editors the maximum amount of color and exposure data to perform the highest quality blending and window pulls.
How many bracketed exposures should I shoot?+
For most interiors, a standard 3-bracket (e.g., -2, 0, +2 EV) or 5-bracket sequence is ideal. If a room has extremely bright direct sunlight through a window, 5 to 7 brackets may be required.
Do you use automated software to merge the brackets?+
No. While we use advanced tools to align the images, the actual exposure blending, window pulling, and color correction are manually controlled by human editors to avoid fake-looking, overprocessed results.
Is flash required for your editing process?+
We edit both ambient-only (HDR) brackets and flambient (flash + ambient) shots. Let us know your shooting style when submitting your project.
Are sky replacements included?+
Basic sky enhancement is generally included if the sky is entirely blown out, provided it looks natural for the property. For twilight conversions, please see our Day-to-Dusk service.
